Recently, Taizhou enna Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Donghai County of Jiangsu Province to invest 220 million yuan to build a spherical silicon powder project. Silicon micro powder is made of natural quartz or fused quartz (amorphous SiO2 after high temperature melting and cooling of natural quartz) by crushing, ball milling (or vibration, jet milling), flotation, acid washing purification, high purity water treatment and other processes.

With the rapid development of China's microelectronics industry, the requirements of large-scale and ultra large-scale integrated circuits for packaging materials are higher and higher, which not only requires ultra-fine, but also requires high purity, especially for the spherical shape of particles.

Spherical silicon powder is mainly used in large-scale integrated circuit packaging. It is also widely used in aviation, aerospace, fine chemical industry, erasable optical disk, large area electronic substrate, special ceramics and daily cosmetics.

According to the development plan of semiconductor integrated circuits and devices in China, in the next 4-5 years, the demand for spherical silicon micro powder in China will reach more than 100000 tons. At present, the consumption of spherical silicon micro powder only used for VLSI plastic packaging materials in China has exceeded 3000 tons.
